A new first and a big step

When Cailey was Reece's age (22 months) we had just had Reece and Cailey was already in her big girl bed. Cailey got her bed for Christmas when she was 20 months old and slept in it shortly after and ever since. Reece got her big girl bed for Christmas this year and she is now sleeping in it full time. The first night, Christmas night, she was so excited to climb into it. She hid under the covers....

while Daddy put the rail together...

and sissy read her a story.

Cheese! Yay for big girls and no more crib! (a little sad for Mommy)

All ready to go to bed.

She cried at first when she realized that she was going to sleep in it. Daddy went in and calmed her down and she went to sleep. She has been sleeping in it since with no problems! She doesn't get out of bed and sleeps the whole night or nap time just fine. Such a big girl.

Christmas Dinner in Pasadena

After going by Uncle Randy's house, we headed to Great Aunt Lorie's for dinner with the Kinder side of the family. We had a great time seeing everyone who came, talking and eating. We played a gift exchange game and pass the baby :).

Opening and stealing gifts....

This is what happens when you have a week old baby.....

Chase went outside to escape his cousins while he checked out his gift from the game. They sat at the window yelling "Chase! Chase!"

Our surprise gift

So around the time Cailey was born, Mark (a guy Kevin goes to Glamis with) gave Randy (Kevin's best friend, dubbed Uncle Randy) a little 3 wheeler to give to Kevin. Knowing we had no clue about this, Uncle Randy fixed the 3 wheeler. He had all the metal parts powder coated, got it running, replaced everything, put stickers on it, and even got a pink whip for it. Leading up to Christmas, Kevin kept asking me if we were going to be able to go by Randy's on the way to his Aunts in Pasadena. I told him I didn't know and why was it so important we go on this day. Kevin said he had no idea but Randy seemed really excited to have us come by. The little 3 wheeler was the answer. Uncle Randy drove it out from behind the trailer at his house and we were SHOCKED! It was such a touching and nice surprise, 3 years in the making. Now if only the girls would go near it... they were scared by how loud it is and by all the attention they were getting. Cailey has since sat on it at home...when it wasn't running.

On the way...

Just a few shots of the girls in their Christmas outfits. After a nice morning, we headed to Kevin's Aunt Lorie's house to celebrate and have Christmas dinner with his side of the family. It was so windy in Beaumont.

Reece fell asleep, almost as soon as we hit the freeway.

Christmas Morning

Santa came to our house! Lucky went home with him and they left all sorts of presents in return. Because the girls got to bed about 9 the night before, they were a little later to wake up. We opened presents, then had breakfast. Grandma, Papa, and Granny all came over to spend the morning with us. We are so blessed to be able to enjoy such a nice holiday together.

The first one up! Such a shock because she is usually the later of the two to get up.

Cailey and Daddy, Christmas 2010

As you can see, Reece is sitting on the floor, once again refusing to have her picture taken.

Such a cute hat...

The much wanted make-up. She said "I knew it!!" when she opened this one....

The mess that is the living room...

Racing their Ziu, Ziu pets....

Playing with the easel from Grandma and Papa.

It was a wonderful, relaxing Christmas morning at home.
